Take your travel memories to a new level with Marie Glasby's new line of patterns called Destination Quilts. Her first in a series is MICHIGAN - her hometown state. She has taken an ordinary technique and created a unique quilt for the everyday quilter.
Travel has always held a fascinating hold on Marie. Since her teenage days when she corresponded with many pen pals, her moves to five different states and traveling to over a dozen countries she now has a chance to share her travels with other quilters through her quilt patterns.
Marie's design provides the quilter the opportunity to create a very personal and distinctive quilt. Along with specific state symbols, each person can add items that have special meaning to their particular quilt.
Marie's Michigan quilt won 1st place in the 2008 'Great Lakes Nautical' contest sponsored by the Midland County Historical Society. The quilt was also recently featured in the 'Best of Michigan' exhibit at the 2009 Michigan Quilt Network show in Lansing, Michigan.
